Bath area

Posted by Picasa
I spent most of this morning with the Didis who were washing the younger school girls and all the preschool children. They spent so much time with each child checking their bodies for any marks and then thoroughly cleaning them. Each child has one bucket of water to use. Bath day is Saturday and for these children is outside. In winter the water is warmed!
I then went and picked up the Tika powder.
This afternoon I was taught the basic rules of Carrom by the boys. They are so good at it and were very patient with me.
It was hard to leave this afternoon as it is the last time for a while that I will see the school aged children, as I cannot go tomorrow and I leave before they get home from school on Monday.I shall miss them all greatly.

More singing at last

Butterfly painting

I went to yoga for the first time in a few days and was invited back to Sarala's with the yoga group for breakfast. It was very good.
Last year while I was at yoga there was a man there who had a whole in his heart. The yoga group all got together and raised the 70,000 rupees (roughly £700) needed for an operation in India. He has now had the operation and is well on the way to recovery.

We have children's paint at OCCED.

This morning Kausalya and I made paint as soon as we arrived. Then we all painted. We started with blow painting and then did butterfly painting. The children loved it!
I went and bought some more large sheets of good quality paper and have ordered half a kilo of each colour of tika powder.(with your donation money.Thank you!)

I was also invited to a meeting with the board,Social Tours and a lady who was in someway connected with TravAid in the UK.She also works a lot with Richard Branson. It was about how OCCED's profile can be raised and how they can improve their accounting. It was a very useful meeting .She was also considering options for OCCED about the building. One option being trying to raise the £300,000 necessary to buy the building they are currently in.
I am still having problems uploading a video. This time of the children painting.
