Today I gave the boys their ocarinas and decided to let them experiment with them,They were so excited and the sound of Ocarinas punctured the air for the rest of the day.I spent the morning with the younger school girls finishing the crane hanging. It has taken a while but they really enjoyed doing it and the majority of it is their own work.I spent half an hour in with the babies. They have all had their hair cropped and they look so different but they must be so much more comfortable. They are always so pleased to see me however short a time I am in there.I try to go in every day but don't always have time.If I don't have at least half an hour I won't go in because it is not long enough to give each child some time.
I left earlier today as Shruti wanted to take me out.We went to Kathmandu's only theme park and against my better judgement I went on the big wheel. The views were amazing.....
We then went and sat in a green space for a while just to chat.Shruti is studying for a business degree. She starts college at 6:30 six days a week with only 1 month's holiday per year. She then comes straight from college to OCCED and works until 6:30 goes home and does her College work. When she qualifies she wants to go back to her home and under OCCED's umbrella open another Children's Home. She asked me to be at the opening ceremony.I would love to be there.
Many of the children in the orphanage have a cold but I am convinced they are all different varieties and that I am getting one after another. It could also be in part due to the pollution but Indu and Minisha have been making me a traditional Nepali cure for coughs and colds, morning and evening and it seems to be working. It also tastes good.
