We are back from our trekking adventure. It was a truly amazing week.We had a guide,Phurba.and his son Dawa who was 18 and trekking for the first time ,and a porter,Jenjen. They were lovely people and really good company. The first few days were very cloudy so we didn't see the mountains, except for the occasional glimpse through a cloud hole. The last two days were clear and the views were incredible but really only a bonus to an enjoyable week.Phurba took great care of us and we got on so well.A friendship that we hope will continue via email.
We are off to Chitwan tomorrow, leaving Pokhara at 7am.Our plans have been changed slightly as there is some dispute within the park about hotels but we should still be able to do an elephant safari.
I have taken over 800 photos while trekking but can't download here as it takes too long.I will put some on when we get home.Hopefully you will think them worth the wait.
I have a quote for today that was in Haribol Ji 's home.
Be yourself. An original is always more valuable than a copy.
