This morning at yoga was beautiful and clear and for the first time ever I saw the mountains all around Kathmandu.What a way to start the day.!
Then it rained ....and some! Walking to OCCED was wet!Also my umbrella broke so I only had half a brolly much to the amusement of many people.
I spent the morning with all the preschool children playing games and sitting with them while they worked.I still find it fascinating that I could be with any children anywhere. Adryon the other volunteer qnd I then spent a long time sharpening pencils and we both ended up with blisters.This afternoon with some of the donation money I bought a table top sharpener ! As the paint making worked I also bought a large tub of PVA glue and have ordered lots of bags of Tikka powder.Kausalya has said she will paint with the children once a week.
Since coming last year the mornings for the children seem to be much more fun with a lot of singing and dancing and playing. It may be that the older children have gone to school and the next oldest have a while before they start but I think much is due to all the volunteers who have been out over the last year and to the staff at OCCED who have taken on board what has been suggested.They are very keen to learn from the volunteers.
