Hello Audrey welcome to my blog!
Today has been very busy.I spent this morning with the older preschool children and after their work we did hand prints. It was a little different as large bottles of children's paint are not available here so yesterday I bought some small pots of poster paints. It is very thick and sticky. After I painted the first child's hands I had a sudden panic that it wouldn't wash off so I waited with bated breath poised over another child's hand until Rabin appeared with clean hands. The children loved doing it and because the paint was so thick it showed all their hand lines.
After lunch I took the three older ones Rabin,Sonia and Nina for extra work,All the preschool children normally sleep for 2 hours in the afternoon so they were very happy at the prospect of work and were reluctant to go to sleep after an hour.I then spent some time with the 'tiny' children. It is very intense as they want to climb all over you all the time. They also do not wear nappys but a single thin sheet(folded and tied) which does not absorb much. As`soon as they are wet the Didis change them so the children do not stay wet for long.I did!
After helping the school girls with their homework (or not as the case may be as Nabina presented me with some equations I hadn't got a clue how to do) I went with one of the boys to get his glasses fixed with plastic lenses rather than glass( He is on his third pair as he plays basketball) and to replace both lenses and have them fitted cost me NR250 about £2.Hopefully they will last him longer.
Things are beginning to move on the donation front and I will soon be able to let you know what some of the money is going on exactly.
